This easy walk is one of Fox Glacier’s best kept secrets.
The start of the walk is the most exhilarating, with a swingbridge that leads across the roaring Fox River (which flows directly from the mouth of the Fox Glacier).
From there the track leads through rainforests and across several small streams to a lookout point that gives excellent views of Fox Glacier, framed by forests and ferns and mature rata trees.
Drive time to the start of the track from Fox Glacier Holiday Park is about 5 minutes. The walk itself takes 10-30 minutes depending how far along the track you decide to go.
